Contrary to popular belief, we do in fact, still exist. We do, in fact, keep making improvements. Today, we have some very big announcements. We have been doing much restructuring that will result in much improved service, with some new features that I’m sure you’re going to love. We love them for ourselves, anyway.

Okay, we have two main changes:

We have moved to new hosting; it is very good and very reliable. I could say more, but just know that we have made done tremendous amounts of research through many sleepless nights and we are now satisfied.

We have analytics. You can see how many times your button has been seen — and not from now on, but for the last month. These are real time graphs. They update every 15 seconds.

—–

Now, on with other news. If you have a feature you want — request it! We love requests because we then know what you actually want, not what we think you want.

We have a whole list of improvements that will be rolling out, you can check back here for the updates — but before you go.

The same team that has created Social Follow has developed a new very exciting project, and we think you might be interested as well. it’s name is RealStatistics.com. It is an online graphing solution and definitely worth checking out.

What does this mean?

This means that we will be able to deliver your buttons to you faster than ever before. This, combined with optimizing the code itself is a major improvement.

It also paves the path and allows us to implement some of our soon-to-be features.

Yesterday we announced that we translated the button into three other languages (Spanish, French and Chinese). With that change came a few other buttons that we didn’t announce.

The “Follow Me” button is a great for an individual and for reputation management, but what if you’re a business? What if you’re representing more than one person from an organizer? “Follow Me” doesn’t quite apply.

We had suggestions from some of our users to make a new button, a “Follow Us” button, and so we did! When you choose your button, you will see a radio button that by default is on “Follow Me”. All you have to do is click on the “Follow Us” and the button will be changed:

Over the last few weeks we have seen a surge in the use of the Social Follow “Follow Me” button across websites all over the world. There has been a high percentage of Spanish speaking users signing up as well as French and Chinese. In order to cater to the demands of our users we introduce…Social Follow’s Follow Me button in multiple languages.

As you can see there are four flags next to the Select Button Style sub title. By clicking on one of these flags you will see that button translated into that language. This opens the door to further expansion into these countries and reduces the risk of having a chinese website with one English element.

For existing users, if you want to change your button to a different language, you can just go to “Mange Buttons”. On there you will see the flags. Select the language you want, then select whether you want Follow Me or Follow Us and select the button. It’s that simple.

We are glad for all the support we have been getting from the users of Social Follow and we will continue to add and simplify things for all of you!

Feel free to respond with what you think and any other development requests.

Have a great day!

We have been working day and night (literally) to give you the ability to create your own profile on SocialFollow.com.

Why would I need another profile?
Honestly, we don’t know. But we figured we would give you the functionality as another method to gain exposure and for something that will take you 5 minutes…why not?

A few days ago we created the ability to have profiles on Social Follow, but the “official launch” is really about making it visible on the website with a profiles menu button and giving people the option of searching through the profiles.

We built in some functionality to ensure your profiles are optimized for greatest exposure through the search engines, yay!

We have a field for your Twitter Feed and Blog Feed with some handy instructions in case you need that extra assistance. When you enter the link to your feeds, the most recent posts from those feeds will show up on your Social Follow profile and automatically update whenever a new post is added.

What is the future for the Social Follow profiles?
We’ll get back with you on that, input is definitely appreciated. We are not trying to completely blur our original purpose because the Social Follow button is really our unique element, but having profiles could only help.

Check out the profiles at: www.socialfollow.com/profiles/

Hello everyone!

The Social Follow beta is evolving and with it comes more features. One of which we’re specially excited about.

You can now create a Social Follow Profile for each button you have that will hold a search engine friendly URL. This means you have to claim your name, as they are unique. If you have a business, we suggest claiming that too. Remember, each button can have a profile.

What do these profiles look like? Well, here’s mine:
http://www.socialfollow.com/profiles/kerry-jones/

If you’re worried you don’t have a twitter or don’t have a blog, don’t fret, it is customized to what you have. You will also notice that it adds a “Social Site” to the Social Follow button itself.

Here are a few more profiles:
http://www.socialfollow.com/profiles/social-follow/
http://www.socialfollow.com/profiles/rafferty-pendery/

So, how do you do it? Simply create a new button, or edit an existing one, and go down to the 4th option. This option didn’t exist before.

Select the option of “I want a Social Follow Profile” and fill in as many of the details as possible to get as complete a profile as possible. You will see there is a plethora of options you can choose from.

Have a great day!

There have been a select few getting the inside skinny on the launch of Social Follow. I figured I would give a more general update on what we have been working on. Here are some of the things we have been doing in order to have an effective launch and scaling (for expansion) of Social Follow for the future:

1. Reducing Code: After you sign up for the account with Social Follow, you will then create your button. After you enter the links for your social sites, you press Create button and you get a box with the code you need to copy and paste to your website. We have reduced this to only a few lines of code which will make the button load faster and perform better on your website.

2. Improving User Flow: After looking at the flow of the interface, we have made some changes to make the interface more intuitive and overall easier for people to use.

3. Analytics: We were going to wait to release the analytics functionality of the Social Follow button, but looks like we should be able to release it on our initial launch. This required us to do additional coding to make the button track things such as how many impressions your Social Follow button gets, how many people are using your social follow button for any given period of time and lots more.

We will give more specific updates to the different parts of Social Follow as they are finalized.

Thanks for following!

In developing the Social Follow button, we had to take into consideration many details from the optimization of the coding to functionality. In this I’m going to lay out the simplicity of getting started with the Social Follow button.

The flow works like this:

1. User creates an account on SocialFollow.com

2. The user goes to the create button page and fills in all their links to their social sites. Then click Create Button at the bottom of the page.

3. You will see a pop up with some code in it. Copy and paste this code to your website, wherever you want the button to appear.

That’s it!

The button will now show up on your website displaying the social sites you put links for. If you want to update your button later, go back to the create button page and you will see the social sites you already listed there. Add any additional links or delete any you want to remove. It’s as simple as that.

The button can be 1 column or 2 depending on the number of links you want in your button. You get the 1 column button for 1-7 links and that looks like this for example:

Then if you want 8-14 or more buttons you will our 2 column button which looks like this:

The Social Follow button was built to require very little code and be optimized to load quickly on websites, this is done as well. The button is a few lines of code and loads instantly on websites.

I hope you have as much fun using the button as we did creating it.

Enjoy,
